Third Party Structural Review
Third-party structural reviews are often needed when an addition, renovation, or structural modification was completed without a permit or without prior engineering review. Riley Residential Structural Engineering can review the visible construction, evaluate whether the work appears structurally adequate, and provide written engineering documentation when appropriate.
If the construction appears acceptable based on the scope of review, a letter can be provided stating that no structural repairs are recommended at the time of the evaluation. If deficiencies are observed, practical repair recommendations can be provided to help address the issue without unnecessary demolition or replacement when a reasonable retrofit solution is available.
The goal is to help homeowners, contractors, and permitting officials understand whether the work is structurally sound and what steps are needed to satisfy applicable structural requirements.
