An engineer's letter is a detailed analysis that involves more preparation than a typical site visit or verbal consultation. It can involve running calculations and reviewing photographs or dimensions, and generally involves a higher level of analysis and preparation.

To determine if repairs are required and how to design the repairs, we will refer to applicable engineering codes, manuals, and building codes and run calculations as needed. We will also provide sketches or drawings when appropriate that are attached to the letter. Those sketches show a contractor how to perform the repair and detail the connections and what the repair should look like.
