While we frequently provide design and repairs of existing decks for building permit and construction, Short-Term Rental (STR) deck inspections are special, legally mandated and required by the City of Virginia Beach which involves a deck inspection and filling out a Structural-Safety Inspection Report every 3 years.

We can provide an unbiased, third party assessment to evaluate the existing decks and in most cases, pass the deck for the current 3-year cycle.

Sometimes there are minor repairs required, and we can provide the design of cost-effective retrofit repairs that are there to restore the components of the deck that are essential to the structural performance and safety during normal occupancy. The design and details for repairs can be taken to a contractor or handyman to execute the repairs so that the deck may be certified for another 3 year cycle.
